Dump
Station Tips
- Use a shorter sewer
hose to make handling easier.
- Carry a garden hose
for rinsing in case the dump station doesn't have one.
- NEVER use your fresh
water hose for rinsing sewer hoses or the dump area.
- Don't touch the
outside of your protective gloves.
- Store fresh-water and
garden hoses in separate areas.
- Don't dump the
black-water tank until it is at least two-thirds full.
- Never leave the
black-water tank valve open when hooked up at a campground.
Liquids will drain, leaving solids to harden on the bottom of the
tank.
- Gray-water tank
valves may be left open when hooked up at a campground.
- Place sewer hoses so
flow restrictions are minimized. Use hose supports to slope
properly.
- Use heavy-duty sewer
hoses. They are the ONLY hoses that will hold up under RV use.
- If others are waiting
to use the dump station, skip the tank flushing and hose rinsing
steps. Pull away, then add your tank chemical.
- Never put anything
other than black and gray water into a sewer drain.
- Leave the dump
station area cleaner than you found it.
